A few weeks ago I report how the liberal media is spreading anti gun hysteria in my post
Hello Kitty Gun Used to Spread Gun Story Misinformation , a story where the press was hinting Sanro is creating Hello Kitty guns to women. It is a story that was a complete fabrication. This time I am dismayed I must level the same change of spreading misinformation to conservative media.
In as story ran by Breitbart
The statement comes on the heels of a Breitbart report about Pentagon officials who met with Mikey Weinstein, the head of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, to shape policies that prevent active duty members from sharing faith. Mr. Weinstein has a no-tolerance view of Christianity in the military, Breitbart reported. One of his beliefs: Soldiers who share the gospel of Jesus Christ are guilty of “treason” — even chaplains, Breitbart found.
Soon the media picks up on the story and reports on it. The problem is the story is not true. In a post by Star and stripes Pentagon: OK to talk about faith, but not to push beliefs on others
“WASHINGTON — It’s OK to evangelize. But it’s not OK to proselytize.
That’s what the Pentagon said Thursday, attempting to clarify its position on religious speech in uniform as controversy swirled up around press reports over possible prosecutions of troops for sharing their faith.
What it comes down to, officials said, is that discussing matters of faith and religious practice with a willing audience is allowed, but pushing religious beliefs on those who don’t want to hear it is a form of harassment forbidden under Defense Department policies.”
I am a 12 year navy veteran who came to the saving knowledge of Christ on my first ship in 1980. As far as I know that was the DOD policy is OK to share one’s faith but one cannot accosting them. It was never a treasonable nor court-martial offense nor an Article 15 offense. I can take about but cannot be aggressive. For example I was stationed in Yokosuka Japan with the Seventh Fleet and was part of the regular group at Yokosuka Christian serviceman’s center. Another missionary, a false teacher (King James only and now what is now as Dominionist Theology) set up shop down the road. This guy was a primitive Baptist in the Wesboro Baptist mold: if one did not read only King James and go to his Church you are dammed to the fires of hell. Like many para-church cults they encourage members to be very aggressive. We lost a dear weaker bother to the cult. He was very aggressive proselytizing at the Base Exchange and would not listen to the chaplains or sound biblical correction by the missionaries at the Christian serviceman’s center. Eventually he was involved with an incident accosting a Captain’s wife. He was not court-martial nor given non judicial punishment but given him a psychological evaluation and a general under honorable discharge.
This silliness could been avoided if somebody just fact check the story with the DoD.
