Last week went out to yard sales after church and noticed.
I felt it needed to be corrected.
This is the worst of the worst in campaigning. First, it all about the children, “for the children” is a common liberal ploy. We all have to sacrifice for the next generation so that politician can tell the next generation that they need to sacrifice for the next generation; this is an everlasting politician guilt trip. Second the fix: unions and union contractor are pouring thousands of campaign cash because they will line their pockets with proceeds form wining contacts to “fix” schools. The losers are homeowners and renters who will be stuck with the bill. Finally, the utter stupidity of creating a 500,000.00 slush fund after planning blow 1.5 billion on a unneeded light rail and street car lines. There is plenty of money if Portland did not blow a wad on unnecessary big-ticket transportation projects.
This and simply raising taxes during a recession is the wrong way to go about it is and good reason to vote no on 26-121
