Just a thought while stuck in the house, church is canceled

I need to make a confession I have a severe  dislike of nostalgia. I am the type who looks forward to the future and but learn from the past  and  do not wish to return to a simpler time. It is one reason I dislike the show Stranger Things on Netflix.

I wonder positive outlook on the future is due to  I was born in 1960  and was raised  on a steady diet of Science Fiction that showeed all the problem but still had hope. I love shows  like The Thunderbirds, Jonny Quest, Star trek, TOS and Animated. When I was twelve or thirteen I was expose to Science Fiction  for young people and began reading the  Masters  like Robert A. Heinlein, Arthur C. Clarke, Frederik Pohl, Robert Silverberg, and other from  the age of 15 and beyond; even  reading  from two  to three books a month than watching TV. I look at toady technology like the internet with  fascination not with distain as others do. I love reading and playing games on my tablet and streaming shows.  I do not want go back having four tv channels. Yes there are problems today, yet we can overcome some and I trust my Lord and Savior than man on the rest (not that  I will have a good life or not  experience pain and suffering in this life but I  will be with Jesus in the end).  I remember being scared  by the doom and gloom predictions as a young teen by books like the Population Bomb and Future Shock and not realize now   in 2017 and 56 years old these predictions did not come true, why am skeptical of  climate change prediction.

John 1:1-14English Standard Version (ESV)

The Word Became Flesh
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 He came as a witness, to bear witness about the light, that all might believe through him. 8 He was not the light, but came to bear witness about the light.

9 The true light, which gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made through him, yet the world did not know him. 11 He came to his own, and his own people did not receive him. 12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The Revolution Was Televised

The revolution was televised. Looking at the data, Trump increased the Black, Asian and Latino vote compared to Romney in 2012 , I suspect from the blue collar demographics. Trump has flipped traditional pro union blue collar democrat states. The Black and Latino vote stayed home rather than vote for Hillary or Trump.
This is something new, as big as Regain’s election in 1980. The revolutionaries are not the SWJ triggered snowflakes, rioting and pushing worthless online petitions. but the average blue collar Joe who is tired of the patronizing, ivy league, political / corprate establishment

Election 2016 WWJD

Lest say I not happy with  the choices. For the fist time since voting for Reagan  in 1984 I will not vote for  the Republican.

Every four years, the American evangelical  church is  infected  with a malady  called the Presidential elections. Last cycle there was a dominionist  calling  churches and pastor that does not  preach  politics from the pulpit cowards. The purpose  of the church and  the duty of the pastor  on Sunday is the rightfully handling of the Word and sacraments, preaching law and gospel, sin and grace. This year the fallacies flow with how would Jesus vote.  As in Jesus  would vote for  Trump.  Well lest see what   scripture  would say What would Jesus dor.
