Donot Be Suppised it Wrong

I did not make approval of the writer of another blogger over Gay Days’ at ‘Family-Friendly’ Disney. The article confuses me. I agree with her at the statement of the Gospel, but it seem to be tacked on at the end tack on at the end.

“As headlines such as this become more and more common, then, the Christian must not lose heart. It is not the job of the Christian to redeem the culture and to make this world a comfortable place to live. It is the duty of the Christian to proclaim the gospel, calling men and women to repent of their sins and trust in Christ alone for salvation.”

My problem the argument is how she got there even where, in my opinion, seem contradictory. First she quotes the American Family Association’s yearly and vain rants on Gay Day which seems like she agrees with it. The ends with the statement quoted above I disagree with the statement and replied. Her response to my reply as follows:

“This comment has been removed by a blog administrator.”

I not complaining, it is her right to delete the comment as much to delete her links for my browser. So I will leave my reply on my own blog.

Our responsibility as Christians is to proclaim Christ and him crucified for our sins to a fallen world. God can change the person’s heart by the proclamation of the Gospel, but we cannot change the sinful heart and culture thought protest or boycott.

Noting my bias that we are depraved and fallen human beings, Disney has and never was a Christian company. The company’s mission is to make money though entertainment. Disney will accommodate a gay group the same way a church outing to Disney World. By the way Gay Day is not a sanction event by Disney; the idea of Disney engage in subversion is unfounded. The argument Disney changed from being a family friendly company is part very flawed world view, by many evangelical and some mainline Christians that our culture and America was Christian, a view that is not supported in scripture. Furthermore our attention on culture war takes our eyes off Christ.

It is the job of parents not Disney raise up our children. In fact such shielding will can hinder spiritual maturity as adults. The person raised with a over idealistic false Christian world will becomes dissolution and leaves the faith when reality of tow world around them does not conformed to the view. If I had kids and they saw two men kissing, I would take them aside, explain why this is sin, proclaim the Gospel and ask suggest that we pray for the men that they hear the Gospel and come to repentance, taking a bad situation and making a leaning experience.

Finally Christians are free to follow their conscience on issues that are not spoken specifically by scripture, they are free to business with Disney 1 Cor 5:9-13 or boycott them.

There are weightier matters that need our attention. I chose to ignore the boycott less I fall into sin by taking my eyes off the cross and neglect the proclamation of the Gospel.   Furthermore we must test what we read on decrement blogs with much discernment. I find Do not be Surprised wanting.
